Dr Mark Copland is a trained historian. He co-authored One Hour More Daylight: A Historical Overview of Aboriginal Dispossession in Southern and Southwest Queensland in 2006. His PhD topic was a history of the forced removal of Aboriginal people in Queensland between 1859 and 1972. He contributed a chapter to “Removing Peoples: Forced Removal in the Modern World”, Oxford University Press, 2009. Mark is the co chair of the Friends of Multuggerah, a local group committed to acknowledging and promoting truth telling in terms of our local shared history. He has worked for two decades raising awareness of and combatting racism in its many forms.
