Street Libraries of Toowoomba

Our vibrant Street Libraries brochure provides 24/7 access to free books – grab your map and go exploring.  New little libraries being added all the time.

Intrigued by the quirky and quiet little libraries dotted around the city, the WFT Team saw the need for a city-wide map showing where to go for free books.  Although the TRC Library and bookstores, or little book nooks inside various businesses are available,  access is limited to opening hours.  It is the 24/7 access, the free exchange of books and the care and regular upgrading by private citizens which make Street Libraries that little bit different.  Check out the different designs and locations by picking up your copy of a brochure.

Once again our Platinum Sponsors, Cracker Print and Paper,  have done a masterful job in putting together the known locations of these street treats.  The first attempt has probably missed a few, but we are keen to add to the list….and perhaps in a future publication.

These very attractive brochures will be on display at the Tourist Information Centre, at various places around the city such as Jeremy’s Book Exchange at Uni Plaza on West Street, The Lighthouse on the corner of Margaret and Hume Streets in the CBD, and in the Street Libraries themselves for those wanting to swap or leave their well-read books for others to enjoy.  If you would like copies please get in touch with Lyndall via email or on 0481 480 808

Happy hunting around the city!
